The main drawback to this type of cushion is its potential to lose shape over time more quickly than gel or air (called “bottoming out”). This is because the material compresses more easily. This might mean that you need to replace the cushion more often, so keep this in mind before you buy. Foam cushions also have the potential to retain heat (although not all do).
