Handicare 1100 Straight Stair Lift Features
The Handicare 1100 is our “workhorse” stair lift. It is very functional and easy to use. Our customers love them because they’re easy to operate, easy for us to install, and require very little maintenance. And if we are stumped with a technical issue, we can rely on the excellent technical support from Handicare – days, nights, or weekends.
Easy Toggle Switch
The nice sized toggle switch can be pushed with a finger, palm, or wrist – whichever is easiest.
Safety Sensors
Is something on the steps?… under the stair lift?… on the travel rail?… or is the seat not in the travel position? The Handicare Stair Lift has many safety features that cause it to stop if there is a potential problem.
Folds to Compact Size
The stair lift folds up to a compact size so others can use the stairs. It can also be sent to the top or bottom of the stairs with either of the two handheld remotes.
Zero Intrusion Kit for Use with the Handicare 1100 Straight Stair Lift
This kit contains a seat pole and metal plate assembly for use to help extend the ending positioning of the Handicare 1100 chair at the top of the stairs.
Sometimes installing a stairlift means installing the rail near doorways. This has to potential to cause a tripping hazard in the home as well as an awkward place to get out of the stair lift chair. If the finishing position of the ride is at the top near a doorway, it can leave little room to get out of the seat on the stairlift. The Zero intrusion kit helps minimize or eliminate those unsafe situations by adapting where the stairlift chair position ends.
The Zero Intrusion plate extends the final position of the seat at the top so that it’s higher than the end of the rail. This makes the footrest flush with the top step. Using the Zero Intrusion Kit along with the built in, manual swivel seat feature, users can get out of the chair in front of the doorway easily and safely.

In addition to the Zero Intrusion feature, other add on’s which will make the Handicare stair lift even more convenient are:
Power Swivel – This feature is helpful when manual dexterity is a challenge.
Power Footrest – This add on feature will save bending over to fold the footrest out of the way when it’s not in use.

Short on space where you need to install a stair lift? Consider the Slide Track option.
The Slide Track for the Handicare 1100 straight stair lift moves with the seat in the direction of travel. The Slide Track allows for a shorter rail to be installed for the stairlift, and automatically moves up and down, in tandem with the seat to add length on one end or the other where it’s needed.
You can have a shorter rail installed on your stairs and still get all the way to the top or bottom of the stairs. The shortened rail ensures that the stair chair seat is never in the way at the top or the bottom of the stairs. Take a look at the video to see this interesting feature in action.

The Easy Hinge makes doorways a breeze.
If there’s a doorway right in the spot where the best exit point is for your straight stairlift, one of the great solutions might be the Easy Hinge for the Handicare 1100 straight stair lift. The Easy Hinge for the Handicare 1100 has a very specific application.
This feature makes the rail fold up and out of the way of the door. It’s very useful if the best available option for getting off your stair chair is right in front of a doorway. It ensures the bottom portion of the rail is lifted up and out of the way of any passageways when the stair lift is not in use.
By using a gas strut mechanism, it makes it incredibly easy to use when manually raising or lowering the portion of the rail. The Easy Hinge also enables the seat to get low enough to easily sit on by lowering the rail beyond the lowest step of the stairs. This is a wonderful option for users with vertical movement or height challenges.

A power swivel seat option is available for the Handicare 1100 straight stair lift model
A simple, easy to use automated power swivel seat turns you in the correct direction away from the stairs when you’re exiting the stair lift at the top or bottom. This feature will help you feel confident and safe when entering or exiting your chair for the stairs.
This option has the ability to turn the seat of your stair lift between 90° and 180° once the stair lift has reached its destination. It can be programmed to turn you facing the safest direction when the stair lift has finished taking you where you need to go. It’s especially helpful when incorporated with the Zero Intrusion Feature because the automatic swivel of the seat will help the user step directly onto the landing at the top of the stairs, helping them to feel more safe, secure and confident.
